Setting the Scene
Konnichiwa! I’m Ayumi, and I’m thrilled to share my journey of studying in Bangladesh. Leaving Tokyo to study abroad was a big decision, but Bangladesh’s unique blend of tradition and modernity fascinated me. I chose to enroll at BRAC University to pursue my degree in Development Studies.

Academic Life
The academic environment at BRAC University is incredibly stimulating. The courses are well-structured, and the faculty is renowned for their expertise and dedication. Group projects and presentations are a regular part of the curriculum, fostering teamwork and practical application of knowledge.

Embracing the Culture
Bangladesh is a country of warmth and hospitality. From the moment I arrived, I felt welcomed by both the university and the local community. Participating in cultural events, exploring historical sites, and learning the basics of Bengali have been some of the highlights of my stay.

Overcoming Obstacles
One of the biggest challenges I faced was the initial cultural shock and homesickness. However, the support from my peers and university staff has been phenomenal. They’ve helped me adapt and feel at home, making the transition much smoother.

Looking Ahead
Studying in Bangladesh has been an eye-opening experience. It has provided me with a unique perspective on global issues and development. I plan to utilize this knowledge and my cross-cultural experiences to contribute to international development projects in the future.
